The current #PhilippineCollegian Rules was first enacted in 1978 and was last amended in 1989. Forty years after its promulgation and 29 years after the last amendment, the thorough review and amendment of the rules are needed to enable the Philippine Collegian to better fulfill its mandate in light of the fast-changing developments in media and society.

We are inviting ALL enrolled UP Diliman students–our publishers–to a public consultation on 06 October 2018, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM at the Philippine Collegian Office.

To better equip everyone for this review, we are sharing the following relevant documents:

A. Philippine Collegian Rules of 1978, as amended
B. Republic Act 7079, otherwise known as the “Campus Journalism Act of 1991”
C. Republic Act 9500, otherwise known as the “UP Charter of 2008”
D. The Manila Collegian Constitution
E. COA Letter to the Philippine Collegian dated 08 November 2006 (opinion that the printing of a student publication is not exempt from public bidding)

These are accessible and downloadable in this link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/12yQ9OUDTjGeklHHDh0Y9va7uD8v3iTxQ?usp=sharing
